I could really use some help here.
I just hooked up a 55 inch tv as my monitor for my computer. I love the screen resolution of 1920X1080 but the icons on my desktop are really small to the point I almost cannot see what they are. Is this a easy fix.
Thanks for any and all help.

(55,147 posts)If I get off the current resolution the icons are bigger, but then I web pages are a bit smaller. I guess I'm greedy and want it all. HAHA!
But thanks for that, this is something I guess I will have to ponder.
EDIT: going back to what you said, I found "Make text and other items larger or smaller" That worked!
THANK YOU!

(27,677 posts)I'm running 1920x1080 on a 23" monitor. Wouldn't the icons on a 55" screen be more than twice as large?

(55,147 posts)For some reason mine went smaller. See the edit in my post above on how I fixed it.

(18,481 posts)...will be about 2.4 times bigger than icons on a 23" widescreen monitor. However, most folks sit 18" to 24" from a monitor and 7 to 12 FEET from a TV.
Using Win7, right click on a blank area of desktop and select "personalize".
In that window, in the lower left corner, is a link "display".
This gives you the option to increase the size 25 or 50% on my 22 inch screen, maybe more on a 55 inch.
This leaves the resolution at 1920 x 1080 but makes icons, text, etc bigger.

Select Properties
Appearance tab
Effect button
Put check in Use Large Icons

Windows 7 should have something similar, one would think.
