yours should have a ssd as well. It would speed up the editing. The large sata drive is great for storage but for that price it should have a smaller ssd as well. You could add it later.

...live in a dorm...or a soldier.

Somebody that is a true gamer and lives in a house can build a damn nice machine for about 1/2 of that laptop cost and also have a decent size screen 24/27.

For that price, you'd have one of the very best desktops in the entire world, if not THE best.

I also like to work outside in the summer. My gaming laptop was about $1000 and isn't the most powerful thing in the world. Why anyone would buy Alienware and/or a laptop for gaming if they don't absolutely need mobility is beyond me. With Alienware, you're mostly paying for the brand. The parts are no better or worse than a computer with the same specs and parts from somewhere else.

I didn't know that. Even being a tech, I've only had one Alienware to work on and that was just a few corrupted
system files that took about 10 minutes.

Doesn't surprise me though...

Thanks for the info.

Someone gave me an old (pre-dell) Alienware PC. That monster has been my main gaming computer for a while now. I love it but it weighs about 50?lbs and can heat the room, good in winter

Only thing that has broken on it was the start button on top, that button is a known issue. I got it fixed but had to jump the pins on the motherboard to start it for a few days.

I'm not a 'professional gamer' but I do not like lag PC caused or internet lag and I need a large screen to be happy online!

I guess if you play solo games that laptop will be very fast, should be wired internet if one is really competitive in online games. especially player vs player online games. lag will get you killed everytime.

I like this place for computers, they have really nice specials and have great customer contact. https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/
