After 2 weeks of screwing with Windoze 8, I quit.

Just one annoyance after another.
Started out good, installed without a glitch, worked fine for about 3 days-then the fun started. Wireless connection slowed to a crawl-about 700K instead of 6 M.
Removed and reinstalled drivers-for about 5 minutes decent connection and then a crawl. did all the tweaks found online for this common problem-no fix.
Shut down and hooked up old drive with XP X64 and rebooted. Connected at 6 M and stayed at that speed so it's not the hardware.
Then the fun started, Install of WordPerfect X6 failed-couldn't find critical .dll. Install of NTI failed-couldn't find critical .dll, a different one.
Malwarebytes started failing to open and run. then it faiedl during bootup and restart-usually on the second reboot it would come up normal.
Ran my diagnostics disk on all hardware-passed.
Tried doing a repair with original DVD, got message saying hard drive is locked-WTF? Tried everything M$ said to try-nothing worked.

At that point I got fed up and dug out a Windows 7 Pro X64 disk, wiped the drive and started over. no problems. Connection at 6M. Everything installed and is working fine.

Amd FX-8350 cpu, 8 Gb RAM, Asus A5M97 R2.0 AM3+ motherboard, WD 2 TB SATA3 drive, NVidia GTX650 graphics card, 24X DVD-RW.
