Trying to connect my new Ipad to my pop3 email.

When I go to settings i get to a screen that is "new account". I am assuming they mean new to the Ipad.
Then it asks for a name which I believe can be anything so to identify the account on the Ipad only.
Then I add address: which is "name@comcast.net". And then the password to my email account.
Then after verifying, it asks for Incoming Mail Server and I enter: "mail.comcast.net".
Then it asks for a user name and I dont know what user name that it wants.
And then it wants my password again.
Then Outgoing Mail Server I enter "smpt.comcast.net". After a time it tells me "Cannot connect using SSL. Do you want to try without SSL?" And I dont no.

Help
