Tab page in firefox missing

wifes laptop all of a sudden she does not get tab page when clicking on new tab. no little box to enable or hide tabs? worked through various help screens but still have not found a way to get this working.
Any suggestions?

But will do so. this problem developed when she got an unasked for menu bar. i did remove the menu bar. will check link now.
