Looking for experts on optical scanner auditing

Please save the "audits are useless" response for another thread.

In Vermont we have no audit law but we are working on one. We are looking for expert testimony -- a person(s) who are familiar with the different kinds of audits done in various states, which ones are considered most effective and why, etc. We are 100% optical scanner, no DRE, so an expert on auditing DREs would not be helpful to us. Mainly we are looking for testimony on how audits can be most effective, statistically significant, etc. Comparative costs of different types of audits... Is there another state that does decent audits that we could model after..? Basically we're looking for someone very familiar with election auditing.

I have someone from Verified Voting who will testify. If anyone cares to suggest another qualified person who might be interested in testifying, please let me know.

Thanks
gary

I saw a few years back where they volunteered to design audit protocols to 99% certainty taking into account both the number of votes in a district and the difference in votes between the candidates.

on the front page it says at the bottom
Statistical portions, principles 5–7 and their best practices, endorsed by the American Statistical Association.

I wish I had a name to go on.

but I don't have much more knowledge about it than that. Perhaps someone at the office of MN Secretary of State Mark Ritchie would be able to help.
