The Corrupt Media

So now that the Democratic chair is stepping down, we still have an issue with the press. The political pundits and the major news corporations did not give Bernie a fair shake. It was pretty obvious from the start. We can get our messages out there, but it is the media that has the largest influence on voters. They did not acknowledge Bernie for the longest time. If they are being fed by the DNC, and the DNC is corrupt, how can we change that? Replacing one bad apple with another is not going to get to the core of our issues. Bernie was a threat to the media who feast off of pharmaceutical and Wall Street corporations, two industries that are taking all of the money from middle class and turning us in to drug addicted zombies. Any thoughts out there?

He owes everything to the free 24/7 coverage he's gotten, especially on the cable news channels, all of them.

Just stop bagging Big Pill. It takes half a pharmacy to keep me alive and walking so I'm damned grateful.

Most of those political zombies are only on caffeine, nicotine and alcohol in various combinations. You want to blame something for keeping them stupefied, try "reality" shows on TV.

Sanders was treated with kid gloves, especially at the end, and the media took a hands off approach to most of the really embarrassing stories.

DWS was not a bad apple. Donna Brazile is not a bad apple. The DNC is not corrupt.

You might be right about the zombies part, though. Some people don't seem to be aware that Rapey Julian just ate their lunch and will be back tomorrow for more,

If we let the media shape our opinions and make all the decisions about what important we are screwed. It's will always be shallow and self serving. Acquiring knowledge requires action not inaction. It scares the hell out of me that people consider themselves informed when they watch television.

we probably have to wait until the gen x is the elder population because most people over 55 or so - not all but most still get their news from the majors - which are actually the minors - outlets

most people under that age get their news from the internet and research more - but also don't vote as much -

sure many people who are older have computers - but about half dont use them or know how - I work with people helping them with computers and you would be surprised the computer knowledge of most older people - again not all - some are very good at it - but most cannot copy and paste - dont know what a browser is - dont know how to type in a web address - cannot add an attachment to an email - wouldnt know hardly anything from anything and have a ton of pop ups all the time redirecting them because they have a virus or maybe a hundred of them - so when you see stats of people who have internet keep in mind about half of them don't really use it

Not all but most. Or "about half dont use them or know how." That was cut and pasted from your comment. Just to clarify.
