2000 and 2020 VA US Senate Election- Mark Warner-D getting Chuck Robbed?

During the 1980's VA elected Chuck Robb, a Democrat to the VA Governorship and then to the US Senate.
Robb won the 1988 VA US Senate Race by at least a 40 percent margin. Robb won re-election by a narrow margin in 1994 against Ollie North-R. Robb lost re-election in 2000 by a narrow margin to George Allen-R.
During the 2000's VA elected Mark Warner, a Democrat to the VA Governorship and then to the US Senate.
Warner-D won the 2008 VA US Senate Race by at least a 30 percent margin. Warner-D won re-election by a narrow margin in 2014 to Ed Gillespie-R. In 2020 VA is more Democratic friendly than it was in 2000 and the Republicans don't have a former Republican Governor like George Allen-R.
