47 years on the force: longest-serving policeman in England retires

PC Robert Brown has decided to call it a career. He could tell some stories: Brown racked up almost fifty years in the Metropolitan London police department.

From the article:

He was involved in the Carlos the Jackal and Baader-Meinhof probes and spent three days on duty during the 1981 Brixton Riots.

He finished his career in Croydon Borough, where he was born, with colleagues forming a guard of honour for his final shift.

I watch enuf Brit crime shows.

They refer to the white shirted ranked initials. I never came across P.C.

Haven't seen one of those in years - and even then, I think it was in a museum.

But well done, PC Brown. 47 years. Simply amazing.
