'Phenomenal' waves expected off South West coast

Coastguards have warned "phenomenal" waves of more than 45ft (14m) are expected off the south-west of England.

Jo Smith, from Brixham Coastguard, said the inshore forecast was "not looking good, with winds increasing".

The waves are predicted for 12 miles (19km) offshore and Ms Smith said that "we very rarely see them in an inshore forecast".

She said the waves should not be as large on the coast but that communities "would feel the brunt".

Funnily enough the surfers who'd migrated to France last week for the waves there have now come over to the UK.

That's a nice picture you posted.
