Griffin visited Syria

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2013/jun/11/nick-griffin-mission-syria-confusion

On Monday, Griffin updated his Twitter followers on a day in Lebanon, describing Beirut as "less alien than the streets of London". He also praised Hezbollah, the militant Iranian-backed Shia group, who helped the Assad regime recapture the rebel-held city of Qusayr last week.

I thought he generally hates all Muslims? So why does he now claim to support such factions?

Back on the subject of Syria: I've seen online fascists glorify Gaddafi and Assad over the past couple of years, as ideal fascist dictators - 'strong men' who take no prisoners in their attempt to hold on to power in their country. So I'm not surprised to see Griffin do it too.

Specific Islamophobia is a Johnny-come-lately for the BNP; just another, recently popular excuse for hating foreigners, especially though not exclusively those of a different skin colour. The BNP and its forerunner the National Front were hating immigrants, descendants of immigrants, and foreigners, long before it ever occurred to them to distinguish between Muslims and any of those other furrin heathen religions.

As for Assad, well, he's a democracy-hating fascist, so I suppose a man after Griffin's own heart.

cosying up with European far right wingers and at the same time cursing and say no to Europe.

If he's hating foreigners, why all the foreign travel?

if he didn't fly to Brussels and Strasbourg to take part in that EU parliament group that I call 'the International Alliance of Xenophobes', how would he get to claim all that lovely Euro-dosh? It's the motto of the far right, as far as I can see: 'hate the EU, love its gravy train"!
