http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Politics/20120418/calgary-wildrose-candidate-comments-120418/That wasn't good enough for Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi, who took to Twitter to express his dismay.
"It's not that he shouldn't have said it. It's that he shouldn't believe it. He has not yet said whether he does," said Nenshi. "His clarification did not in any way address the content of his comments. Does he believe ethnic (politicians) speak only to some?"
I love that Nenshi is calling out this Wildrose wacko for his not-pology!

(50,344 posts)same religious extremism, racism, homophobia, climate change deniers and their leader is Sarah Palin personified, imo.
I loved that both Calgary's mayor and Edmonton's mayor called the candidates on their racism and homophobia.
I also hope Albertans, when push comes to shove, will see how dangerous the WRP is but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
To see you back again.
Well, if WRP gets into power, it most likely will lead to Harper loosing his dominant hold on Alberta. There was an understanding, that Reform would not interfere in the Alberta PC party. If we now have Harper's group taking over Alberta provincial politics because Alberta tried to obtain a fair share from their natural resources, then the compact has been broken.

(50,344 posts)I figured I'd check out what was happening in the Canada Forum, see if the soon to be Alberta debacle was being discussed.
As to your point about the compact, I had forgotten about that 'understanding' back in the Reform days. Seeing as Harper and his crew are actively involved in trying to get the WRP elected, I'm betting they think this will strengthen, not weaken, their hold on Alberta and I am not sure they would be wrong, unfortunately.
With the WRP in power, were that to happen, there would be NO fight with the "Harper Government" over the fair share for Alberta because the WRP would not bring it up, imo.
