How are you coping with the fear of imminent unemployment and the fact that your government is demonizing you to the whole country?
I signed up to do the shop steward training with my union (because public servant bashing is also always union bashing), which at least a makes me feel like I'm doing something, however tiny. Waiting for the axe to drop is no fun, though, is it?

(10,602 posts)I worked for the Labor Department in my local state for 24 years. I retired 14 years ago by buying out my time and leaving because the situation was getting crazy even then. Attacks on public employees, teachers and unions is a sign of the growth of fascism. I am surprised by what is going on in Canada.
Having said that I have been saying for a very long time that the RW has infected the body politic in many developed countries here and in Europe. I believe that what is going on in the US is caused by people like the Koch brothers, the Coors family, the De Vos family, the Bush family and all the billionaires who infect this planet.
I have heard the GOP attacking socialist Canada, and Europe. It is code for an international fascism. It seems to be no coincidence of having RW prime ministers in Canada, Britain, Germany, Italy, France, etc. The multinational groups want to install a world government or a "new world order" as Bush I talked about in 1989.
Our local fascists like the Koch brothers were instrumental in setting up Europe for failure with all the phony securities. Of course Goldman Sachs, the World Bank and IMF were convenient vehicles to accomplish their mission.
The establishment of the Eurozone was a way to control the various countries in Europe. It was a way of stripping away sovereignty from individual nations. Austerity is a way to enrich the already rich.
The only way that you can get away with such mayhem is to go after the public servant and the unions. I hate to make the comparison but Hitler would be amazed because these economic thugs have been using his tactics for 30 years.
I sympathize with your situation. I am not sure what can be done unless the various populations wake up. And now that I look back the "cold war" against communism was kind of a fraud. Defeat that straw dog and savage enslaving capitalism can flourish and become the totalitarian state it supposed apposed earlier.
Super wealth is just as tyrannical as any other "ism" or dictator like Hitler, Stalin or Mussolini.

(38 posts)into them because of an atm scam that my card was used in and when I investigated online to see the extent of their operations I also came across the BBB that is a fraud as well.
You HAVE to buy BBB membership to get a good rating and they are supposed to be a non-profit charity. They don't report any earnings & they take in massive amounts of money and give almost nothing to charity. The BBB doesn't discourage the belief that they are an arm of the gov't but they are not!
The CFIB I'm sure you know being a public sector worker, is a scam. They lobby for public worker wages to be brought into line with private sector workers because private sector workers make peanuts so GOPs corporate buddies can make even more money giving nothing to the slaves that make their products. They say PSworkers pensions are 200 thou in the hole and it's a lie, they are in a surplus position! The attacks are basically the same as conservative attacks on pensions, all lies and propaganda.
I hope you keep your job.
Good luck!

(20,583 posts)I listen to Canadia radio and I am shocked by the ads I am hearing now. It looks like the craziness has crossed the border now. The ads were for union busting and trying to scare people with the threat of higher taxes.
