What's with all the commercials on CBC Radio 2?

I live in Detroit and enjoy the CBC. But I liked it for the lack of commercials. Has the government cut their funding?

and frozen for 3 years I believe. Which could also explain why their news coverage is increasingly superficial, and the nonstop charm offensive by the oil industry and Harper's Canadian Action Plan commercials during hockey games too.

The new programming is seriously flawed. I'm thinking of just turning off the radio and listening to some of my 5,000 cds.
