Unconfirmed reports of ballot shortages in Racine

http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/177564901.html

Racine officials are scrambling to keep enough ballots at polling sites in the waning hour of voting, but residents who gave up and went home earlier without voting should return because ballots are being repenished, a pollwatching group said Tuesday.

Seven or eight polling sites in Racine have run out of ballots at various times since 3 p.m., said Ann Jacobs of the legal coordinating committee for Wisconsin Election Protection, and hundreds of discouraged residents have gone home without voting, she said.

"The mayor has assured us ballots are being photocopied. Photocopied ballots are set aside, but they're counted, so people should go back and vote," Jacobs said.

The County Clerk insisted that the municipalities have enough ballots for 100% turnout for the last couple of elections. I'm assuming they did the same this time around.
