Out of more than 6,000 state legislative districts up for grabs this year, we’re choosing 50 key races to highlight on our 2012 "Essential Races" list. These will be 50 truly critical races that will help show which way the political tide is turning this fall.

But this list isn’t just about what we think. It’s also about what you think – and that’s why we're asking you to help choose 10 additional races for the list.
