(14,894 posts)Yes, everyone was all fired up and there were a lot of people jam packed into that gym. But no one seemed to mind, and no one seemed to mind the wait.
Mrs. Obama's speech was very moving and you could tell it came from the heart. She did get a bit chocked up towards the end as did many in the crowd. Additionally, when she finished, she went into the crowd and shook hands and greeted and thanked people - she did NOT make a mad dash out of there. I feel honored to have witnessed such a wonderful event
Here are a few images I managed to take. Photo taking was a challenge because of the crowds, but that's okay.
It was evident that the crowd loved Mrs. Obama
Russ Feingold (he is currently Lawrence's 2012-13 Stephen Edward Scarff Distinguished Visiting Professor) gave a wonderful speech to a most enthusiastic crowd.
Mrs. Obama gave a heartfelt speech and everyone loved what she said. She really fired up the crowd.
