Is Neumann is trying to tap the ghost of William Proxmire or the anti-science of Sarah Palin?

If you are old enough to remember Proxmire's series of Golden Fleece awards you might have some insight on this...Proxmire loved to demean scientific research that he didn't understand.

If you remember from 2008 Sarah Palin similarly had no understanding for the importance of studying genetics in animal models such as fruit flies.

I actually studied under a professor who was doing fundamental research on erectile dysfunction back in the 70's who had his funded research trashed because he was testing a device that measured and recorded tumescence (aka boners/woodies). Tumescence during sleep was considered to distinguish physiological from psychological origins of ED.

Neumann's add makes the scientists out to be clowns for testing cocaine effect on sex response in quail, and then goes on to blame Obama's government for wasteful spending.

I'm of the opinion that Neumann is trying to do a Proxmire. What do you think?

Unfortunately I think he may have a shot at becomming senator. If not him, one of the other GOP yahoos. I wish I believed Tammy is going to win.
