Regarding the April 2nd ballot

(First, my deepest apologies for always being confused by the wording on these referendum questions.)

These two will be on the April ballot - should I vote yes or no?

State of Wisconsin Use of Private Funds in Election Administration Referendum
QUESTION 1: "Use of private funds in election administration. Shall section 7 (1) of article III of the constitution be created to provide that private donations and grants may not be applied for, accepted, expended, or used in connection with the conduct of any primary, election, or referendum?"

State of Wisconsin Election Officials Referendum
QUESTION 2: "Election officials. Shall section 7 (2) of article III of the constitution be created to provide that only election officials designated by law may perform tasks in the conduct of primaries, elections, and referendums?"

As a poll worker I second that.

The first one is basically about blocking any grants to support election activities - like the Meta grants that happened in 2020.

I don't even know what the fuck the second one is trying to block. Contractors? Like those who produce election equipment? Does it mean that municipal clerks have to be on site for every election and cannot task employees with processing absentee ballot requests, conducting election day activities, etc? If only elected people oversee election tasks, managing the process will become ridiculous. Are they trying to put election results in large (read liberal) cities in danger of being rejected or questioned or abandoned all together due to processing delays?

This one should be shut down for everything.

Right now the number one thing to remember is that constitutional amendments must be passed by two consecutive legislative sessions (after two elections) and the GQP has been in charge of the Wisconsin legislature the whole time.

Hopefully that is about to change.
