The change in part might serve to make his uneven eyes (right one lower than left one) less noticeable. It's one of the things that makes him look a bit odd. Bringing the hair down lower lessens the effect of his beady eyes, too.

So far I've only seen this hairstyle on his social media sites, but I hope he sticks with it. It really is a little strange and Trump-like.
