Majority of Assembly Republicans push for equal road cuts
Sen. Alberta Darling, co-chair of the budget committee, said last week she wants to protect the $1.7 billion Zoo Interchange near Milwaukee currently slated to be done in 2018 from any delays caused by a reduction in funding.
But Assembly Republicans, including the 33 who signed Monday's letter, have said cuts should be distributed equally so more rural parts of the state aren't disproportionately affected if urban projects are spared.

So, who gets the short end of the stick, suburban conservatives or rural conservatives? Delay the Zoo Interchange, and upset the Waukesha County residents. Delay projects up north and create resentment towards the GOP. A large part due to over reaching tax cuts resulting in not enough revenue. This could be the wedge issue (along with rural school funding) that I feel could be the Wisconsin GOP's "Waterloo".
P.S. I use the Zoo Interchange daily but have acclimated to it. If construction delays occur, I would laugh at my fellow Waukeshaens wallowing in their own frustration.
