A survey about the election at the state convention

A caller tonight (obviously in a call center) asked to speak with either me or dragongentleman (using our actual names). She then asked whether I was planning to attend the state Democratic convention in June (yes). Next question: which of the five candidates for chair (listed the names) do you plan to vote for? I asked who was sponsoring the survey. "The Democratic Party." What?? Obviously I chose not to answer that one and the caller said good night.

Why would the party be running a survey on this? Did anyone else get this call?

1. If the DPW is spending money on such a survey you can bet it's for nefarious purposes.

TPTB would love to install another corpo-Dem in Tate's place.

The candidate I liked wasn't terribly dynamic....

The candidate I have disliked (for years) gave the best "stem winder" speech of the group....but hardly "moved the needle" off ZERO on the sincerity scale....

Others...mehhhhhhh....

...Aha. ALEC. AFP. Citizens United. The Family Research Council. FreedomWorks. National Organization for Marriage.

Why the hell would a group that polls for these organizations be calling a hard-core Democrat see note above, I'm on the delegate list DPW delegate about his choice for the upcoming election for DPW Chair?

Did this RW polling group get the DPW delegate list? If so, how?

Either someone in the chair's race has hired a RW polling firm (unlikely??), or some RW outfit is trying to ratfck the chair selection process....

Would assume candidates have list available?
Bet I could come up with a good guesstimate list if I pondered it

There are still conventions to be held. So perhaps those getting calls are from one or two CDs

9. A writer on DailyKos had an extensive article about this

In an update on Thursday he wrote: 'This issue has gone to the highest level of the DPW. Other delegates have reported receiving this phone poll, and we have an originating number for the polling. There is an active, ongoing effort to determine who is making the calling and how they obtained the convention delegate list." I hope we'll hear more soon.
