The campaign for party chair is in full swing

The February meeting of the Milwaukee County Democratic Party will be held Monday, February 23, at 7 pm at Burke's Irish Castle, 5328 W. Bluemound Road. Two candidates for Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin will join us: Jeff Smith and Mary Lang Sollinger. The meeting will also have presentations by Professor Lane Hall (founder of Overpass Light Brigade) and UWM student Masha Anderson on Governor Walker's proposed budget cuts to the UW System, with an emphasis on the negative impacts they will have on UW-Milwaukee.

If you are serious about wanting to change the direction of the party, the time to start is now. The only way to make that change happen is to become a delegate and vote for the party officers at the state convention (June 5-6 in Milwaukee). This meeting would be a perfect time to start the process--sign up as a party member if you aren't one already and express interest in being a delegate (each county has a specified number of seats to fill so it's good to be early). The same goes for Democrats all over Wisconsin: contact your county party chair now and get a delegate spot at the convention. Please! This is where change starts.

Not sure why Mary Lang Sollinger wasn't included (or even named as a candidate when these were posted).

I'd appreciate reading any thoughts DU members have on these responses.

I don't think she was excluded. Hopefully, now that she has joined the race, she will have an opportunity to answer these questions as well.
