Wisconsin: Is Walker really unintimidated? Walker Campaign Declines WPT Debate

http://wpt.org/Here_and_Now/walker-campaign-declines-wpt-debate

And finally this note. We invited both of the front-running candidates for governor to join us for a debate. While the Mary Burke accepted, the Scott Walker campaign just today declined our invitation. While we hope Governor Walker will change his mind, we plan to still move ahead with a live election special on October 16 featuring Mary Burke. It has been our long-standing policy to stay the course and feature any candidates who commit, because we believe that serves our audience better than cancelling a program because one candidate declines to participate. Both campaigns are aware of this policy. If you'd like to know more about the criteria we use to determine which candidates are invited to participate, you can go to wisconsinvote.org, where you will find a link to our candidate inclusion policy and other election coverage. The candidates had been invited to debate in partnership with Wisconsin Public Television, Wisconsin Public Radio, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Today's TMJ.

hold more than one or 2 appearances. He blew his first appearance and said some dumb things, so his handlers have refused to expose him to any more questioning. It's a tactic that works, IMO. Pub voters don't care -- they already know who they're gonna vote for, and it ain't a Dem.

4. I think the Democratic Committee's are making it way too easy for them.

I thing Debbie Wasserman Schultz is a poor Chairwoman of the Democratic Party. She does not appear interested in this mid- term election cycle as others have in the past. Just my opinion.

mid-term/Congressional elections, I want to scream, "How about the Dem leadership showing some goddamn interest in the mid-terms, as in SUPPLYING MONEY AND AD SUPPORT to the Dems struggling to pay for their own campaigns against Citizen-United-funded Republicans in the state races???"

The leadership has no 50-state strategy, except to bitch at the voters for being apathetic. This is bullshit. Of COURSE the voters are apathetic -- the Dem Party isn't even interested in Dem candidates, for God's sake!

And you know what, Dem leadership? Stop acting like you don't know how to turn things around. The Pubs get drooling morons elected by supplying money and wall-to-wall ad campaigns for their candidates, so how 'bout trying THAT tactic?? It's worked for the Pubs for 30 goddamn years! How come you guys won't try it? Well, I have my own ideas why they won't try it -- they like things the way they are. They are the Washington Generals against the Harlem Globetrotters -- it's all an exhibition game to distract the rubes, and both sides get paid handsomely no matter who wins.

The media now is validating my assessment. Slick bastards those GOP'ers.
