http://thepoliticalenvironment.blogspot.com/2014/07/wi-dnr-to-sell-10000-acres-nice-round.html[Updated 10:55 p.m.] The GOP-led Wisconsin Legislature and Governor Walker are gearing up for The Mother of All Garage Sales - - at least 10,000 acres - - with price tags you may never see. And not necessarily sold to the highest bidder [Sic].
Public sale through mandatory open, competitive bidding? Well, the DNR says on its website that procedure is in the "may occur" category.
Really - - That's such an old-fashioned business model.
And not 5,000 acres, or 9,000 or 14,000, or 15,839.5, or acreage as needed based on a long-range plan - - just 10,000 acres, minimum - - an easily remembered round number.
Heck - - Put a dollar $ign in front of it and you've got yourself a modest, modern day, post-Citizens United-era campaign or Governor's Defense Fund donation.
These days, Bucky keeps it simple!

(4,949 posts)I also feel it is loooong past time for Wanker to taste justice. To me it is unreal that his image prevails for some!
I have almost given up hope for the truth to come out though I realize it is embedded deeply in RW/conservative political control managed by the top 1%'ers. ALEC was around for 40 years weaving it's web which ultimately funneled $$ to the wealthy. Most Dems were naive to those ramifications.
On a personal note I hope all is well with You and hope You find time for some R&R this summer!

(5,075 posts)That's the same motto I saw at the Florida border as we drove into Florida the other day.
Thankfully previous Floridians have had respect enough to save much land in the state park system.
We visited the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve and saw rare birds not seen in most of Florida anymore. I hope it can be protected.
