http://cognidissidence.blogspot.com/2014/01/i-voted-for-reagan-yeah-thats-ticket.htmlI remember, I was a teenager, had just become a teenager and voted for Ronald Reagan limited government, you know, smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense. You knew what you were getting. You knew how a Reagan administration, a Reagan presidency was going to be better for you.
...
The funny thing is, scott walker was 13 and 17 during the Reagan election years.
...
His birth date is not in dispute. Ronald Reagan was elected to his first term as President on November 4th, 1980 - - just two days after Walker's 13th birthday - - and was re-elected on Nov. 6th, 1984 - - presidential election dates, here. On presidential election day November 6th, 1984, Scott Walker would have been 17 years and four days old.

(70,539 posts)I have yet to hear a reasonable explanation as to why Marquette U. kicked his
ass out with only a few credits to go before he graduated and that none of his
credits would transfer. My guess is he was cheating.

(34,414 posts)except Reagan never served in the military & was reliving his old movie roles. Republicans have lived in their own reality for decades now, and I trace everything bad we are experiencing straight back to Reagan. I knew we were in big trouble when he started pandering to Jerry Falwell & that despicable bunch, when he busted unions, pushed trickle down on all of us, and when they called ketchup a vegetable.

Fellow actor and future Best Man at Reagan's wedding, William Holden, also served with Reagan in the AAF's First Motion Picture Unit --

I don't believe either one saw action other than on a movie set.

(2,354 posts)he continued doing what he'd done in Hollywood, except his contract was loaned out to the Military. (The First Motion Picture Unit was the name of his "outfit."
If Reagan served in the military during the war, then so did Betty Grable and Jane Russell.
MisterP
(23,730 posts)he was in SoCal the whole while making "How to Bomb Japan" films (BTW that's where the phrase "good German" came from--it meant dissidents, not those who went along--because unlike the Japanese, the Germans weren't an indistinguishable, interchangeable anthill of human-formed drones (not that that stopped Harris))

(6,399 posts)I definitely remember those things when I was that age and went through the same where it was just overwhelming for Reagan in the classroom. Not that we actually talked about what was going on in the world at the time. Just the race itself, which was essentially a popularity contest.

(10,056 posts)Is that as a person in their late 40s he should know better.
I mean really? Reagan? He should be pissed that Reagan stole his future not lauding him for it.
It just goes to show you that even the stupidest people can get elected with enough money.
Money out of politics now!
