Seattle's tech workers earn second-highest wages in the world

Seattle's booming tech sector has been cited as one of the reasons the Emerald City has a strong economy.

And with a strong tech industry come tech workers. They're earning on average the second-highest tech-worker salary in the world by coming to Seattle, according to a recent State-of-salaries report by Hired.

In its analysis, Hired examined the salaries of tech workers in major tech cities around the world, looking not only at the average salaries reported in 2018, but also looking at the difference when compared to tech worker salaries in 2017.

Just one region has a higher tech salary average than Seattle: the San Francisco Bay Area, which is likely not a surprise if you follow such trends. San Francisco has been the top-paying market for tech workers for the last four years.

Probably one of the reasons why housing has gotten so ridiculously expensive.
