Seattle has already scored the 3rd warmest spring on record
Did the past few months feel particularly warm to you? Even without having just coming off of the "snowpocalypse" in February?
If you think so then you're not alone: According to the National Weather Service, spring in Seattle this year was warmer than usual the third warmest on record, to be exact.
Although astronomical spring lasts until June 20 (when Seattle typically marks the occasion with naked bikers, among other things), meteorologically speaking summer started on Saturday, June 1.
Using that day to track seasonal records, Seattle's NWS found that during the last three months of the meteorlogical spring, Seattle had 21 days at or above 70 degrees, with an average temperature of 53.8. That number is also tied for third most days at or above during the springtime, just shy of the record of 23 days.
