We won!

Just got an email from the state party office:

After hearing from more than 12,800 Democrats across the state, we have a decision.

Washington Democrats will be allocating delegates for the 2020 Democratic nomination for President of the United States with a PRIMARY ELECTION on March 10, 2020.

Just now at a meeting in Pasco, elected representatives of the Washington State Democratic Central Committee (WSDCC) voted (121 to 40) to use the March 2020 primary results to apportion delegates.

The overwhelming majority (93.6%) of the public votes and comments you sent supported this decision.

By hosting one of the most important primaries in the country next year, we expect an enormous wave of energy from thousands of Washingtonians, some of whom will be getting involved in politics for the first time. This is a HUGE opportunity to bring in a new wave of volunteers, activists -- and even potential future candidates -- to fuel progressive change in our state for years to come.

Bold mine.

people weren't very happy about the results. Bernie got the delegates because of the caucuses, but the primary went heavy for Hillary. Then in the general, a couple of electors didn't want to cast their votes for Hillary. It was a bit crazy.

A lot of folks were a bit disappointed. Most folks thought it was stupid to use caucuses. They circulated emails to Dems around the state, voted online, and then had a state party meeting where they voted it in pretty overwhelmingly.

The state party said it received nearly 13,000 comments ahead of its choice between a primary and a caucus, with more than 90 percent in favor of the primary.
