OLYMPIA A new law clears the way for the Washington State Patrol to buy up outlawed bump stocks for $150 apiece in Marysville this weekend.
Gov. Jay Inslee signed Senate Bill 5954 to provide the state patrol with $150,000 to carry out the program lawmakers created last year but failed to fund.
But owners must act fast. The opportunity will end March 26 when a federal ban on the firearm attachments takes effect.
Until then, the new law allows Washington residents to turn in up to five bump stocks, which replace the standard stock and grip of a semi-automatic firearm and will allow a gun to fire rapidly as the recoil bumps the trigger. It doesnt matter if they work or not.

(4,494 posts)they're unlawful automatic weapons, and I fully support he ban.
But this is a stupid policy, for the reasons I posted.

(6,831 posts)Your guns laws are a joke. You could drive the Nimitz through the loop holes.
The voters here in Washington VOTED on and passed this measure. Our governor is only following up on what WE VOTED into law.
It's an important step on the way to outlawing dangerous weapons that do not belong in the hands of civilians.
Take your "stupid" walking, preferably through the Safeway Parking lot in Tucson (circa 1/8/2011).

You know nothing about me, and your threat is despicable.

(6,831 posts)I was pointing out the hypocrisy of your statement.
And its laughable (as well as arrogant) to suggest that 3D objects are going to pass muster with Washington State Law Enforcement Authorities.

(4,494 posts)You're no better than the right-wing gun nut lowlifes I have to deal with here.
And, you clearly don't know a damn thing about 3D printed bump stocks.

(6,831 posts)I didn't give you that much thought.
The thread was about our Governor Jay Inslee upholding the law that we all voted on here in WA, and your ill-advised, poorly thought out commentary on that.
You can go now.
