Schrier maintains lead over Rossi in competitive 8th District race

In one of the most competitive races in the state, Democrat Dr. Kim Schrier maintained her lead over Republican Dino Rossi for the 8th Congressional District after a second round of returns were released in King County Wednesday.

Schrier (53 percent) widened her lead over Rossi (47 percent) by 1,589 votes.

Pierce County is expected to release a second round of their returns Wednesday evening.

Both Schrier and Rossi said although there were a lot of ballots left to be counted, they were optimistic about the results.
