WSU to McMorris Rodgers -- Stop using our trademark phrase

The 5th Congressional District of Washington could go by another name: "Cougar Nation."

Washington State University, which has lately built up defenses on the gridiron, finds itself defending university trademarks against politicians in a showdown contest for Congress.

The university told Republican U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers to stop using the trademark phrase, "Go Cougs" in her campaign literature, including fliers handed out at Martin Stadium in Pullman.

"The term 'Go Cougs' is a trademark of Washington State University and, as a guest, should not be used in a political campaign," Phil Weiler, Wazzu's vice president for marketing and communications, wrote in an email to The Daily Evergreen.

Seems Republicans lack creativity so they have to plagerize things.
