Thousands to protest Trump at Capitol? Maybe not so many, organizers say

We’ve all expected more people to show up to a party than ended up attending.

But an anti-Donald Trump rally scheduled for Saturday at the state Capitol may have set the record for an overeager crowd estimate.

First, march organizers said 2,500 would be there, according to the state Department of Enterprise Services.

On Tuesday, they told the state, scratch that: there will be more like 300.

Also there's three marches scheduled between Easter weekend and the end of the month - this one, the March for Science on Earth Day, and the People's Climate March on the 29th. I imagine people looked at this and chose to be with their families for the holiday and come to DC one of the next two weekends. Also, I'm fairly certain all of these events will have satellite gatherings in cities across the country, so it may be easier to stay close to home and protest.
