Windstorm happenings, hope all are ok

I am not home, but just got notice power is out for 70% of my county, emergency services are overwhelmed, a couple areas are evacuated due to rivers flooding, strong declararion DON'T TRAVEL from emergency services texts. NWS reports winds of 41 sustained in the last hour, gust of 64 recorded.

Mr. Uppity says our power is out but the house is warm, wind gusts are making the woodstove burn oddly, dog and cats are skittish.

I hope you all are having a safe night too.

Power has been off and on three times since supper and that was before this wind got so hellish. Right now it's blowing to beat the devil, barely letting up at all.

Of course, my man is sleeping thru it, told me not to get him up unless there's a tree right on top of us (he has a history of being slow to move when there's water right up to the porch or trees bouncing off the roof, ha!) I was up all night last night, with boots on, ready to go; the yard looked liked a disaster area this morning (lots of nice wreath material, tho).

You and yours stay safe, too!

the relatives' land is now officially beachfront property down at Washaway...

The new view from their front gate.

And those pics were taken yesterday right after their neighbors fell in, so we don't know yet how much more land was eroded away. He can't get ahold of them, as they're busy moving out.

Our power continued to go off and on even late this morning, after the wind was done. We've had so much rain that every single tree is waterlogged, so they have become plum pushovers.

I'm glad this weekend is supposed to be clearer. What a week!

last night, and the yard is a mess this morning; branches down all over, but nothing major. A big tree limb took down a section of fence and the wind blew down part of the deck railing. The strongest gust was around 60 mph here in Freeland.

at least one 47 mph gust, worst was 6 to 8pm then died down. Where does this crap come from??!!!
Were by Lakewood in Pierce county. We lost electricity once for 1 minute, just long enough to screw up all the clocks.
Thank goodness it was warmer, 58 degrees so we didnt freeze. (58 degrees in mid december!)
I think were OK now, goodnight fellow sufferers.

the Cascades. I suspect the flooding will continue, the winds, I don't know. Awoke to bright sunshine this morning in my area. Take care down there.

I miss living like that. Where I live now, some have woodstoves, solar panels, etc. but the rest are dependent on City Light and they do a good job.
