Gov. Jay Inslee calls for a moment of silence in honor of Oso mudslide victims

http://governor.wa.gov/news/releases/article.aspx?id=227
Gov. Jay Inslee today called for a moment of silence tomorrow, March 29, at 10:37 am to honor Oso mudslide victims, those still missing and the many grieving families in the Stillaguamish Valley.

The devastating mudslide occurred last Saturday morning in the community of Oso, crossing the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River at about 10:37am.

The governor encourages all Washingtonians to join him in this moment of silence as a show of respect for those who have died and a gesture of comfort for those who grieve.

“I know that every Washingtonian holds in their heart the people of the Stillaguamish Valley and we all wish we could ease their pain,” the governor said. “Tomorrow morning, we can all join together and silently send our thoughts and prayers to the families of Oso.”

I looked at the forum, and didn't see any Oso posts, wrote something about how strange there weren't any, and returned to the forum to find your thread newly there, even though you posted it a couple of hours ago.

not so much OMG A DISASTER HOW COULD THEY LIVE THERE OMG but omg this really sucks. I found out a local woman's brother and this grandchild are still in the mud, found the sister in law. They also found the body of the 5 yr old sister of the little boy who was rescued but not the other sibs or dad yet. I am appreciating the press conferences, avoiding news coverage on tv otherwise as it is too Drama vs fuck. If that makes sense.

Makes me look at other disasters differently now. And have a great deal of respect for the Snohomish sheriff and fire and emergency people's refusal to speculate, continue to repeat.
