Grocery Store Strike Looms

Per the Tacoma News Tribune: Safeway, Fred Meyer, Albertson's and QFC checkers will going on strike beginning 7pm Monday evening. Teamsters are reporting that they will probably honor the pickets. So if you need food GO NOW or Monday during the day!!! I plan to spend some time and stand on the line with them.

is 3/$10 this week at QFC. Get it while you can I guess.
I won't shop there after Monday evening.

My son needed Bolthouse for his medication mixture. I went to QFC for that and had a wonderful talk with one of the grocers. He was more than willing to dish and I told him truthfully, that the item in my hand was the last I would buy from any of those stores until the strike is resolved.

Then when I went to checkout, I noticed the checker had three union buttons on. I asked her if I could have one. She gave it to me happily and it's on my coat now.

I have 2 12 hour shifts at the hospital tomorrow and the next day, but after that, I'm on the line with the strikers. I've called the 1-800 number and they said they could use a nurse to man a first aid station and that's what I am and that's what I'll be doing.

Yay, for the union workers. This is what solidarity can do. They stared them down and management blinked and blinked hard.

with little more than an hour to spare. I'm glad management turned out to be gutless wonders, I mean intelligent business people.
