Governor, health officials warn against large gatherings this Memorial Day weekend
WASHINGTON - Memorial Day holiday weekend has the governor and health officials worried about gatherings spreading the coronavirus. There are many things you can do and cannot do.
You can still get outside and enjoy the holiday weekend with hiking, fishing, golfing and such. Many state parks are open for day use, but they are still closed to overnight camping.
That closure includes counties that have already jumped to Phase Two where normally camping would be allowed. But not at this time.
No, said Anna Gill of the state Parks and Recreation Commission. Were going to open camping as a whole once the governor moves everybody in the entire state into Phase Two. If we were to open it in the select counties, it would just create a max influx of people to those areas.
