25 New Coronavirus Cases Confirmed In Pierce County; 3 More Dead

TACOMA, WA — The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department on Friday reported 25 new coronavirus cases and three more deaths linked to COVID-19. The county's case total stands at 1,287, and 47 people have died since early March.

Pierce County has the third-highest number of lab-confirmed cases in Washington, behind King and Snohomish counties.

According to the health department, 28 hospital stays related to COVID-19 were recorded last week, which was down from the previous two weeks.

Updated hospitalization numbers for this week have not been released. An upgraded map on the health department website allows residents to track cases more closely, and sort confirmed illnesses by neighborhood.
