Yes, pot shops and liquor stores are 'essential businesses' in Washington

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee issued a "stay-at-home" order in the state's effort to curb the outbreak of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The order allows only "essential businesses" to remain open to the public.

What is an essential business? The state classifies grocery stores, pharmacies, doctors offices, to-go restaurants, gas stations, childcare and many more to be "essential."

This also includes liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries.

It's just a given.

Here in MA, they are only cannabis sales to holders of a medical card. Rec buyers are not allowed to buy, even though the dispensaries sell both.

Saw video on local news showing a pot shop in Yakima was limiting number of customers inside. There was a line of around 30 people standing just about a foot apart outside the shop.

They were only letting 3 customers in the shop at one time. Everyone was gloved and they were wiping down the surfaces when I went in.
