Space Needle suspending operations through March due to emerging pandemic

SEATTLE — The Space Needle said it is suspending all operations Thursday evening for the rest of March due to the emerging coronavirus pandemic.

All operations at the Space Needle will be suspended until at least March 31 for precautionary reasons related to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Seattle area.

Governor Jay Inslee and Mayor Jenny Durkan advised the Space Needle on the decision.

"We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this closure and look forward to welcoming Guests and Space Needle Team Members back to the icon of Seattle when we reopen," the Space Needle said in a tweet.
