COVID-19 cases in King County reaches 116, health officials say; 20 deaths included
Local health officials announced 33 more cases of the novel coronavirus were confirmed in King County, bringing the total to 116 as of Monday. That number includes 20 deaths, three of which were reported with the new cases, although one was from a previous positive test result.
As of 2 p.m. Monday, the number of confirmed cases statewide reached 162, according to the Washington State Department of Health, including 22 deaths.
As of Monday, positive test results of COVID-19 had been confirmed in King, Snohomish, Grant, Pierce, Clark, Jefferson, Kitsap and Kittitas counties. Deaths had been confirmed in King, Snohomish and Grant counties.
Though other nursing homes and a senior living facility in the Seattle area has had reported cases, Life Care in Kirkland remained the epicenter of the new cases and the outbreak overall. Of the 20 deaths in King County, 19 were associated with Life Care.
