The first U.S. case of coronavirus originating from China has been reported in a man in Washington state who came through the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) set up checkpoints at five major airports in the United States to screen people returning from Wuhan, China for coronavirus.
Sea-Tac is not one of those airports. That's because Sea-Tac does not have direct or connecting flights to Wuhan, the city at the center of the outbreak.
The man in his 30s who was diagnosed with coronavirus did not fly directly into the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, but authorities are still working to determine which airports he stopped in first before leaving Wuhan.

(14,825 posts)it got to a lot of world cities, some of which don't have state of the art diagnostic and tracking programs.
If it gets to india, or japan, or south america, there isn't an airport in the country that won't have people landing with issues.
Hopefully this runs its course. But there is a chance for pandemic. It all depends on how easy human-human transmission is and where the clusters pop up.

The concept is to kill everyone on the planet in the least amount of time. You start with a contagion and you get to manipulate how it evolves and spreads.
The interesting part is that as you play, there are "headlines" and news reports that pop up... sometimes about your disease, sometimes not.
Also, as you play... especially as the disease turns fatal and starts killing off people... the CDC and other health organizations try to cultivate a cure or vaccine. So it becomes a race to see if you can infect enough people to cause society to break down and stop the cure from being created before the cure allows humans to survive.
It's a fun, if a bit morbid, game. Unlike first person shooter games, there aren't pictures of people dying or anything, just statistics.
The odd thing is that the headlines appearing occasionally about this new virus look just like the beginning of a Plague game... similar in severity and number. The language used is also very similar.
