LimePod to cease service in Seattle before the end of 2019

LimePods will soon leave the streets of Seattle.

The Lime-branded Fiats have been one of many car-sharing options for Seattleites in the last year. But the beta program will come to an end Dec. 31, and the company has announced that the number of its cars in the city will decline starting in October.

"We deeply appreciate our partnership with the Seattle community and the opportunity to collaborate on our LimePod Pilot Program," a Lime spokesman said in an email.

Current users will maintain access to the service until the end of the year. New users will not be able to sign up after Oct. 14.
