One member of violent white supremacist group pleads guilty in Charlottesville federal court
CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) One of the four members of a violent California neo-nazi group arrested last month and charged for violence last year specifically in Charlottesville has pleaded guilty. 24-year old Cole Evan White of Clayton, CA admits guilt in Charlottesville federal court to one count of conspiracy to violate the federal riots statute. A federal court release says White is an associate of violent extremist group Rise Above Movement (RAM), and in his guilty plea admits to traveling to Charlottesville from California and engaging in violence on the Grounds of the University of Virginia August 11, 2017 and the next day in downtown Charlottesville.
At sentencing, White faces a maximum five years in prison and $250,000 fine. White was indicted and arrested in early October along with Benjamin Daley, Thomas Gillen, and Michael Miselis the latter being an active duty Marine during his alleged violent involvement at Unite the Right. The other three still face charges of one count of conspiracy to violent the federal riots statute, and one count of traveling in interstate commerce with the intent to incite a riot.
These four alleged RAM associates were arrested in early October, a few weeks before four more RAM associates were arrested. All eight are accused in criminal complaints of participating in rioting in Charlottesville as well as three localities in California last year. The early four all face charges here in Charlottesville federal court and the latter four all faces charges in Los Angeles federal court. While all are accused in the criminal complaints of participating in the same crimes here and in California, the charges are split between feds in California and Virginia.
One of the men charged in California Tyler Laube pleaded guilty last week to charges in a Huntington Beach.
