Recent William & Mary, Monacan High School graduate killed in Idaho while cycling across country

A 22-year-old Chesterfield County woman was killed Wednesday in Idaho while biking across the country. ... Anne Davis was hit by a car while cycling from Virginia to Oregon to raise money for Bike & Build, a nonprofit that, according to its website, benefits affordable housing and empowers young adults for a lifetime of service and civic engagement.
Davis, a graduate of Monacan High School and a 2016 graduate of the College of William & Mary, was among a group of 22 cyclists, according to the Booneville County Sheriffs Office in Idaho. Davis was one of two cyclists struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Patricia Beyer, 33, of Idaho Falls, who suffered minor injuries. The other injured cyclist, Laura Stark, 26, of Michigan was in critical condition and still being treated at an eastern Idaho hospital Thursday.
No charges have been filed against Beyer, sheriffs office Sgt. Bryan Lovell said. The crash, which occurred about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, is under investigation.

Davis had set out to raise $4,500 for affordable housing in the biking trip, and she had already surpassed $4,700 as of Thursday afternoon, according to her Bike & Build webpage, which lists her bike route as having started in Charlottesville on May 26. ... She traveled through West Virginia, Ohio, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and Idaho, with plans to finish the trip in Oregon on July 28.
