TSA rolls out expedited screening at Norfolk airport

NORFOLK

It's a traveler's worst nightmare. The security line at the airport isn't moving and your flight boards in five minutes. As you crane your neck and recheck your watch, someone walks by and breezes through security without so much as removing a belt.

You could be that person, if you haven't been convicted of a serious crime and pay a one-time fee of $85 to the Transportation Security Administration.

The agency last month expanded TSA PreCheck - a program that allows preapproved passengers to pass through security using special lanes for an expedited screening process.

Nine airlines are participating at 114 airports - including Norfolk International.

It just appeared on my E-tickets. At first I had no idea what it was.
What was really funny, was that at one airport there were so many PRE- passengers and only 1 line, that the regular cattle car line people were getting through faster than we were. I'm sure that was an anomaly. :&gt

So - if they let me through all those times without any type of background check(that I knew about ha ha), why do I have to register? They already know me. Oh $85. oopps.

When I checked the TSA website it LOOKED to me like I would have to go to Indianapolis to register. Hope I am wrong on that as I live near Rochester, NY.
