Legal Fees in the Redistricting Case

Abbott has spent $1.4 million in legal fees for outside counsel in the redistricting cases. http://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/headlines/20120208-texas-legal-costs-in-redistricting-fight-reach-1.4-million-records-show.ece This is probably only the tip of the iceberg because billable hours are being racked up like crazy in both the San Antonio and Washington cases.

The leaders of the GOP have to be upset with Abbott. The Texas GOP could be in the middle of the super tuesday primary races if Abbott had not applied for a stay with the SCOTUS

They used to brag about how zealous they were in their collection practices. Now we don't hear a peep. Could it be due to other distractions?

I'd like to see a performance report for his office too. How much money has the state wasted essentially pursuing phantom voter impersonations too. I think he's already put out one report that cost upwards of $1.5 million and caught 4 people or so. Or at least only those 4 were successfully charged and convicted. All the others were trumped up charges by the republicans.

Abbott is such a partisan hack that I can't see how he gets any real work done for the people of Texas. Oh you know things like going after banking crooks that are stealing Texans' money with their shifty bank service fees. Or utilities, insurance and other questionable businesses ripping off people with their exorbitant rates. No he's not going to be defending the people of Texas against corporations - hell no. Those slime balls are his masters!
