Top 5 movies to watch before North Korean attack on Austin

Whether it’s a nuclear missile, bomb or full on invasion, ATX Gossip is prepared for a North Korean attack and you can be too! Here are our top five movies to watch in order to prepare yourselves for the threat (which Governor Perry has suggested is due to jealousy over Austin’s job growth).

1. Red Dawn (2012)

This remake shows the struggles and great success of a handful of teenagers that decide to rebel against the North Koreans after a country-wide and government invasion. From this, we learn that even if we don’t have direct power, we can still take control. From using the invaders’ own bombs to bomb them, to sneaking our loved ones out of concentration-like camps, to training ourselves to have the gun skills of a Marine – we learn how we can effectively take our country and our beautiful ATX back, no matter our age or size.

2. Olympus Has Fallen

When North Korea takes over the White House in a ground attack, potentially ruling our government and leading all of America into nuclear destruction, hunky Gerard Butler decides to fight back. With no hope in sight, we realize that even just one man can make a difference. From Butler we learn: how to sneak around, how to get out of set traps and sticky situations, how to be brave even if we’re alone and how we can’t trust anyone – not even our best friends. This story could come in handy with any potential attack on our Texas capital.

3. War of the Worlds

Even though the public isn’t aware of any alien invasion in the near future, this sci-fi alien thriller shows us the do’s and the don’ts of behavior under any kind of attack. Tom Cruise, with his two kids along for the ride (his daughter played by a young Dakota Fanning), travel from their home to a safe location days away. Here’s what we learn from this movie: we must keep our loved ones together constantly, being in the middle of nowhere isn’t going to keep us safe, the ability to hide very well is a necessity and we should not be driving a car in very populated areas. No cruising down 6th Street when trying to make a get-a-way! Otherwise, you’ll most likely be attacked by people trying to steal your car…or just acting stupid because they’re drunk.
