Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on Saturday urged his fellow Republicans in Texas to be optimistic about the partys future prospects and called on them to remain true to their core beliefs.
We need to care more about the next generation than the next election, Walker told about 900 people at the Dallas County Republican Partys Reagan Day Dinner at the Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas.

Walkers speech dealt mostly with education, an issue he believes is critical to the nations future. He said Republicans have the right approach, including developing systems that hire and fire teachers based on merit, not longevity.
Were the ones who care about education, he said. We care about students, not educational bureaucracy.

If he did he would not have moved to destroy the teacher's union in his state and he would not be promoting that in other states either.
I suppose that he believes the constant testing, that students have to endure, is evidence of his concern about education. If that were the case he would advocate using the results of the tests to support remediation and reteaching skills for those who "aren't up to standards" rather than insisting the test results be used to target teachers, who have failing students in their classrooms.
I try to avoid spending too much time fantasizing about divine retribution for characters such as Walker but if I had Samantha Stevens' nose I'd fix him fast.
