Former Braves great Fred McGriff has Sen. Jon Ossoff to thank (or blame) for the moment this week when U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz donned a McGriff jersey as a part of a losing bet for the Texas Republican.
Ossoff struck a wager with his colleague when the Braves faced the Houston Astros in the World Series, which the Braves famously and fabulously won, making Cruz a loser.

Why do the genius voters of Texas keep electing him?
I guess they like Senators who run off to Cancun when the s&*t is hitting the fan.

Cruz did incredibly poorly in his last race. For an incumbent Texas Republican Senator to only win re-election by 3% is close to an embarrassing loss.

if one wants to be elected to ANY public office in Texas, merely place an R next to their name and they are a shoo-in.
Sad and disgusting, but true.

Doesnt help that the jersey is too small.

And the "Crime Dog" is a much more likable person than the odious Ted Cruz.
McGriff is one of those players who is a borderline HOFer but didn't make it through the writers vote. Perhaps the Veterans Committee might put him in one day. Coincidentally, he ended up with the same career home total (493) as fellow first baseman Lou Gehrig.
Just out of curiosity, I wonder whose number Ossoff would have donned had the Astros won.
